Programme Introduction




1. The Ministry of Finance (MOF) is inviting public views on the Government Budget for Financial Year 2008 (or ‘Budget 2008’) to find out how the Budget could meet the challenges that Singapore would faced. This includes:

• Ensuring economic competitiveness and encouraging greater innovation,
• Up-grading of workforce’s skills,
• Rising concerns on climate change and environmental sustainability,
• Coping with ageing population.

2. Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), together with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), Young Business Leaders Forum (YBF) and REACH are therefore co-organizing a Dialogue Session on Pre-Budget 2008 to garners views on budget issues that concern the business community.
