Programme Introduction

1. The Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), in partnership with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), is pleased to organise a Briefing on Company’s Tax Obligations, Enhanced Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) Scheme and the Enhanced iSPRINT for our members on Tuesday, 25 Sep 2012.

2. At this briefing, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) officers will provide an overview of a company’s income tax filing obligations that companies need to observe. They will also cover some common tax saving schemes, including the Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) scheme, the companies can benefit from.

3. The PIC scheme was first introduced in Budget 2010 and further enhanced in Budget 2011 and 2012. It provides tax benefits for businesses to invest in innovation and productivity improvements. Businesses can enjoy deduction/allowances at 400% or receive up to $60,000 of cash pay-outs. The tax benefits under PIC apply from Year of Assessment (YA) 2011 to YA 2015.

4. The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) iSPRINT scheme is a comprehensive initiative that supports the adoption of ICT by SMEs to improve their business operations and productivity by using the technology. The scheme was recently further enhanced to ensure ICT remains affordable and accessible to SMEs. Funding support will now be increased from the current 50% to 70% of qualifying costs for all SMEs.

5. We have invited officers from IRAS and IDA to provide members a better understanding of how employers can benefit from the various schemes. All members are strongly encouraged to attend this important briefing.
