Programme Introduction

1. The Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) is pleased to invite all our members to this Briefing on CPF LIFE and MoneySENSE on 14 Jan 2010. We have invited speakers from Central Provident Fund Board (CPF) and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to share how you as an employer can optimise your employees CPF savings, assist them in their retirement planning and better manage their funds.

2. CPF LIFE is a new scheme which provides all employees lifelong income in their retirement. It is an improvement over the current Minimum Sum Scheme (MSS) where payouts only last about 20 years. The scheme provides a monthly payout for life, depending on when the individual was born. The 4 plans available for selection allow for flexibility in Bequest* payouts (*the money that the beneficiaries of the CPF LIFE participant will receive upon the participant’s death), as well as the percentage of those payouts.

3. We can go a step further by equipping the employees with core knowledge and skills to manage their hard-earned money prudently, to avoid debt trap and fall prey to scams. At this briefing, MAS will highlight the importance of financial education at the workplace and explain how employers can partner MoneySENSE to bring educational talks to your employees. MoneySENSE is the Singapore's national financial education programme spearheaded by the Monetary Authority of Singapore together with six other public-sector agencies.
