1. The Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) together with the Employer Alliance (EA) is pleased to bring you the Briefing on the First Mover Initiative for SMEs. This briefing was organized due to the good response received at the Launch of the First Mover Initiative on 23 May 2008.
2. The First Mover Initiative is a pilot project to assist small-medium enterprises (SMEs) so that they can benefit from work-life strategies at their workplace to help increase employee engagement and boost business productivity.
3. Employer Alliance is seeking to partner 30 SMEs of various sizes and industries to study the work-life needs of these SMEs and their employees. The study, by qualified work-life consultants, will be fully funded by EA. At the end of the study, the consultant assigned to the SME will share with the company on the findings of the study and also make recommendations on suitable work-life strategies and solutions specific to this company.
4. The application to be considered as partners for this study is open to SMEs with less than 200 employees and which are not recipients of the WoW! Fund (Ministry of Manpower). The study will be done during the months of July and August 2008.
5. The partner SME will benefit from the findings of the study and will also find the recommendations valuable as it takes its next step into enhancing its competitive advantage through various work-life solutions that will lead to better business effectiveness in various areas including recruiting, retaining and engaging talents and resources.
