Programme Introduction

1. With an increasing number of older workers in the labour market, employers will need to re-design their in-patient benefits so as to moderate costs.

2. Earlier members have been briefed on Medical Riders which can sit on top of Shield Plans. But the problem then was that employees had to convert to the same Shield Plan in order for the company to purchase the portable Rider. This had created problem in implementation because in most companies, employees have different shield plans. There is a need for rider schemes that can sit on top of all shield plans.

3. We will be introducing 2 Riders that are able to sit on top of any shield plans of employees. Mr. Koh Juan Kiat, Executive Director of SNEF and SBF will also be updating members on the National Medical Insurance for Foreign Workers at this briefing.
