Programme Introduction

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) announced on 7 March 2007 that there will be no change to foreign worker quotas, but there will be some tweaking to meet needs of industries. This is especially so with the tight labour market likely to get tighter over next 5 years, with 450,000 new jobs projected.

We have invited Mr Then Yee Thoong, Divisional Director, Work Pass Division, MOM, to brief members on the key changes to the foreign manpower policies.

All members are encouraged to attend, as you will be hearing the rationale behind the key changes, and also receiving up-to-date information on the operational changes. Members will also have the opportunity to ask questions to clarify the new policy and rules.
